Our mechanical engineering services encompass items associated with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. These systems include direct expansion (D/X), chilled water, heating hot water, steam, and air distribution systems. Our team utilizes code compliant load calculation software and energy calculation software when designing mechanical systems and selecting equipment to provide an optimal design.
Our plumbing engineering services encompass items associated with domestic water systems, water heating systems, sanitary sewer and vent systems, storm systems, and compressed air systems. Our team utilizes code compliant water supply and drainage fixture calculations to determine domestic water and sanitary sewer system sizes. Our team also performs pressure drop calculations for determination of booster pump requirements for domestic water services and pressure drop calculations for determination of compressed air systems.
Our fire protection engineering services encompass items associated with wet pipe, dry pipe, deluge, and clean agent type fire suppression systems. Our team develops permittable drawings and has the capability to perform hydraulic calculations or provide performance-based design/specifications. Our team is also capable of providing fire protection plan reviews and fire protection design analyses. Our lead engineer meets the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) definition of a Qualified Fire Protection Engineer (QFPE): a registered professional engineer who has passed the NCEES fire protection engineering exam and possesses relevant fire protection engineering experience.
Our fire alarm engineering services encompass items associated with sprinkler monitoring, occupant notification, mass notification, and fire detection systems. Our team is also capable of providing plan reviews and fire protection design analyses as stated above. Our designs consist of permittable type drawing that allows the contractor to produce full NFPA 72 compliant fire alarm shop drawings. In addition, our lead engineer meets the UFC QFPE requirements as stated above.
Construction Administration
All of our design work has the option to include construction administration (CA) or engineering support during design (ESDC). This service provides oversight of construction projects during their execution phases which includes the review of submittals, responding to requests for information (RFIs) from owners and contractors, and field walk-throughs and punch-lists. During the review of these items, our engineers ensure that the project is being built according to the construction documents and specifications.
